ConverLight® Achieves French DTA Approval – Swedish Dynamic Glass Technology Certified for the French Market

ConverLight®, ChromoGenic's dynamic glass technology developed and manufactured in Sweden, has officially obtained DTA approval (Document Technique d’Application) from CSTB – France’s national authority for building technology assessments. The approval was granted through ChromoGenics’ French partner, SECM Dynamic.

In France, a DTA is mandatory for any building product to be used and covered by insurance in construction projects. This certification confirms that ConverLight® meets all technical requirements for commercial use – a key milestone in introducing the technology to the French market and in ChromoGenics’ ongoing commitment to quality across the entire value chain.

The approval process included mechanical testing, lifetime testing under high temperature and UV exposure, and extensive performance measurements. CSTB also conducted a detailed audit of ChromoGenics, reviewing processes, documentation, and quality management systems. As a result, both the product and the company are now verified by an independent authority – another milestone in ChromoGenics’ systematic quality assurance efforts, which previously included long-term testing in accordance with ISO 18543:2021.

"French experts designed an extensive test program to verify the product’s reliability. ConverLight® passed all tests, demonstrating high robustness, long lifetime, and thermal stability. The DTA certification is also an important validation of the extensive internal testing we carry out at ChromoGenics," says Johan Mathiasson, CTO of ChromoGenics.

"The DTA approval is a significant quality mark that covers both our product and our company. Beyond technical tests, CSTB carried out a comprehensive audit of ChromoGenics – a process with requirements far beyond standard product certifications. This confirms our ability to operate according to internationally leading standards for quality and reliability and is strong recognition of our technology and global business practices," says Fredrik Fränding, CEO of ChromoGenics.

"This approval marks a major milestone in our partnership with ChromoGenics. After nearly three years of dedicated work and substantial investment, ConverLight® is now fully qualified for use in France. This achievement opens new opportunities and highlights the potential of dynamic glass as a sustainable solution for the buildings of tomorrow," says Pascal Soulié, CEO, SECM.
