Fredrik Bjälkensäter As New Product & Application Manager
Have you met Fredrik Bjälkensäter? If you've been part of a glass project in Sweden over the past decade, there’s a fair chance your paths have crossed. As of this summer, he’s the newest addition to our Uppsala office – though certainly not a newcomer to the world of glass. With over 20 years of experience in façades and construction, Fredrik brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge to ChromoGenics in his new role as Product & Application Manager.
Carpenter turned engineer
Fredrik began his career as a carpenter before joining a friend’s newly started glazier business. A few years later, he studied to become a structural engineer and went on to work across the entire process, from early planning to final delivery, of medium to large-scale façade projects. In recent years, he’s been deeply involved in managing commercial builds, handling everything from budgeting to procurement and execution.
His role at Chromogenics
He’s no stranger to ConverLight® either. Fredrik was previously involved in the Gränbystaden project in Uppsala, where over 600 m² of our dynamic glass was installed – an experience that sparked his interest in electrochromic solutions. At ChromoGenics, Fredrik’s role is all about bridging the gap between product development and real-world delivery.
- – I know how tough it can be on-site when the details haven’t been properly thought through. My goal is to make sure our customers feel fully supported when our product reaches them – clear processes, clear expectations, and a smooth experience, Fredrik explains.
From installation guidance to providing feedback from the field to R&D, Fredrik will play a key role in aligning our technology with the needs of architects, developers, and contractors. He’s also optimistic about what’s ahead.
- – I’ve said it for years – once dynamic glass matures, it will change the way we build. With tighter energy standards and larger glass sections in modern architecture, these solutions are key. And with ConverLight, we’re already there, says Fredrik.
Welcome aboard, Fredrik! We’re thrilled to have you with us.
